Description
This high quality video shows ultrasound set up, probe positioning and common ultrasound findings in emergency room trauma patients. The exam includes step by step instructions to evaluate for hemoperitoneum, pericardial effusion and pneumothorax using ultrasound. Evaluation for free fluid in the abdomen includes views from the right upper quadrant, left upper quadrant and pelvis. The subxiphoid four chamber cardiac view is used to evaluate for hemopericardium. The pleura is examined using a linear probe at 5 different locations along each side of the chest wall.
