All enrolled students will have online access to our comprehensive set of 19 instructional modules, encompassing all lectures and videos for our Hospitalist and Emergency Procedures course. Finishing these modules before attending your scheduled practical hands-on skills lab session is required. This approach allows you to complete all the theoretical groundwork for our course from any location and at anytime. Upon completing the didactic modules, you will participate in an intensive 10-hour simulation-based training session covering a comprehensive array of hospital procedures. This day of procedural training is entirely focused on practical hands-on experience. It will be conducted with the guidance of six skilled instructors, resulting in a student-to-faculty ratio of 6:1. You will engage in personalized, practical training covering various aspects, including:

• Central line insertion using both landmark guidance and ultrasound assistance
• Ultrasound-guided peripheral IV placement
• Intraosseous line establishment
• Arterial line insertion
• Vascular and chest ultrasound
• Spinal ultrasound
• Limited Echocardiography
• E-FAST and RUSH examinations
• Thoracentesis through landmark guidance and ultrasound assistance
• Paracentesis
• Lumbar puncture
• Needle decompression
• Chest tube insertion
• Pigtail catheter placement
• Fundamental suturing
• Endotracheal intubation
• King tube airway placement
• Laryngeal mask airway placement
• Intubation guided by stylet
• Glidescope-assisted intubation, as well as alternative strategies for the management of challenging airways.

Training for bedside ultrasound procedures will be conducted using paid ultrasound models.

The course will commence on Sunday morning, offering a continental breakfast starting from 7:00 AM (class will commence at 7:45 AM). Both breakfast and lunch will be furnished for all students throughout the course duration. The course is scheduled to conclude on Sunday around 6:00 PM.
